Thrift
Thrift is a short dance about economy where effort and yield are points of interest, and the examination ranges from the economy-at-large to the economy of a single gesture. The project includes a sort of etymological analysis, launching from an interest in 'economy' as practiced in dance. As the concept is used there, it is about moving with efficiency, minimal muscular effort, with the ultimate goal of simplicity. In Thrift, that simplicity is contrasted to the complexity that defined and undermined the current global economy, and is ultimately a dance about labor.
