The Flying Man's Falling Thoughts (2000)
The Flying Man's Falling Thoughts, an hour-long interdisciplinary performance, was a collaborative effort by eight independent artists from various disciplines: dance, vocal, performance, puppetry arts. Flying Man is an evocation of the emotional and sensual landscape of the unconscious woven together as a non-narrative series of visual tableaux. The artists approached The Flying Man's Falling Thoughts as a dream, a nightmare, a circus, and a litany of oppositions. In Flying Man, there is no protagonist. The pajama-clad dreamer of the title, like all the characters in this imagined place, are envoys moving through the dream with an uncertain sense of their own agency in the action.
