A native of the rural farming town of Rochelle, Illinois, Cara moved to the "big city" to pursue her love of dance.
A country girl at heart who never forgets where she came from and an athlete all of her life, she discovered dance while in her senior year of high school and never looked back.
She credits her ability to dance barefoot in an empty swimming pool (Giant Fix), scale walls in the Lurie Gardens, and turn an empty cargo container into a performance stage (Convergence) to her roughneck roots.
Upon moving to Chicago she fell in love with things that were scarce in rural Illinois strong coffee, art, political campaigns and Barack Obama.
Outside of dance Cara is taking on other adventures such as learning Spanish, cooking, and traveling (to Russia preferably).
